Weekend in Tahoe
Sierra was okay. I still prefer Heavenly's runs. We still enjoyed it, well, you know why right? It's because we are so fun! (inside joke) The ice was slushy in some parts, yeah, yuck! We ended up leaving the park around 2:30 to eat our favorite waffles with Nutella and condensed milk. Oh and my favorite- Whitecastle cheeseburgers. Dinner was spent at Harvey's at the Seafood buffet. All you can eat for $30. Food was fresh and delicious! I had all the steamed crab I could eat!
After dinner we went to Altitude. A pretty nice club at Harrah's with bad ventilation. Good "touch me" music. (a.k.a trance/techno and the like.) They had dancers on stage and even a dancer in a shower. yeah, that's right, shower stall, water and all. Sorry guys, I didn't take a picture. Should have though. All the guys were in that area. Hmm, wonder why?
The weather completely changed on Sunday. It started snowing! Perfect time to board but we ended spending our last hours at Caesar’s Palace. I'm not a gambler so I drank and watched while the others did. Due to the storm Sunday traffic was horrible. It took us 7 hours to get back to the valley. After the diet talk etc we had in the car ride home, we still decided to eat at 9pm. We finished off the night with Kalbi, Kimchi, Dolsot Bibimbap, Japchae and this one dish - can't remember the name. It was a rice and fish cake kimchi. Whatever it's called, it was really good. Mmm... I'm hungry now.
Well, that was my weekend and we'll be hitting the slopes again in 2 weeks! Yay-ya!
ooh!!! I came across the Bastard Operator From Hell. Have you heard of him? Oh it made my Monday night! I was in tears. I’m especially fond of number 4. I hope you guys find it as hilarious as I do. By the way, "rm" is a Unix command for removing/deleting a file and "rm -r *" deletes all files in the directory including the directory itself!
[Tim: you can do waaaay more damage than Simon.]

Ready for the weekend
So you may have noticed that there aren’t any more flickr pix on my page. I’m going through my paranoid phase. I’ll update it soon and once this feeling subsides, I’ll repost it on my blog. Don’t forget you can always sign in directly on the site and view my pix.
I finally caught up on my Tivo recordings. Did anyone see last Sunday’s Grey’s Anatomy titled Yesterday?! Quoted by the beautiful Meredith, “We'll look for comfort wherever we can find it, and like children, we'll never give up hope.” Ah, there’s so much truth to that. I try not to find comfort wherever I can find it but we’re human. We have needs… but damn it Meredith!!! WHY O’MALLEY?? He’s such a sweetheart and he’s so into you! Did your heart not melt when he said, “I know I'm not a world renowned surgeon and I know I'm not a lot of things you've gone for in the past. But I would never leave you, I would never hurt you, and I will never stop loving you.” Aw George, you’re just going to get eaten alive! Women are evil! Okay, not all. Most. ;) I’m curious to find out what happens this Sunday.

Communication
My boss took me out for a walk and wanted to get the details. He is trying to help me mend things with the big guy. Funny how my boss tells me that he values me so much and wants to keep me here. Hmmm… am I showing it that much? I ended up telling a lil’ bit of history between me & the VP of how he stopped liking me after I got HR involved. Why you ask? Because I’m not the type of girl to bring his coffee, if you know what I mean. And I won’t keep my mouth shut if I feel something is not right. That’s just me. Like it or lump it!
I’ll stop now before I get myself into more trouble. Thanks for listening. Rant over.

Mini Puma Spree
I want to thank Chelu Joe for introducing me to Fokai. (Note the hyperlink for more info. Click on it.) I had to go to Sears this weekend to buy a new water filter for my fridge. I didn't plan on shopping but since Eastridge was undergoing remodeling, I had to take a peek. To my surprise, Sun Jose Hawaii moved their store there. It looks really nice. You guys should check it out. I ended up buying some new slippas and a nice Local Motion outfit for Spring. (as modeled for you all below) They even had FOKAI FEMME there! (Note my profile pic.) Cool, now that I know they make Fokai especially for girls, I can sport that. I was about to leave when, not so far in the distance, I saw these new brown Puma Romas. I was lured into the store. PUMAs GALORE! Not just shoes but PURSES & BAGS too!!! I forgot about the shoes and ended up buying 3 bags. I asked the guy for a discount, which he gave. I'm sure I could have bought them cheaper on line but I couldn't wait. So there, I now have 3 purses. Ironic in that I don't like using purses. Oh well. I'm still content w/ my purchase. As I walked out of Robert Wayne, I notice sales in other stores. Do you know why there were so many sales? President's day weekend. Duh! So, I shopped as much as I could in 2 hours. I don't understand why malls close at 6pm on a Sunday! They should be open ATLEAST until 8pm. Maybe it's better that they closed early. Otherwise, I would have spent over $400 that day. I decided to take a pix of the stuff I bought. Why? I don't know. I'm just so happy w/ what I got, I wanted to share. Sharing is caring!

It's over girl, let it go
For those that don’t know, it’s about a boy- from another state that I had a crush on. It’s trivial, really. The whole thing was over before it started. But I thought we were at least friends. It was nice to finally meet a single guy without baggage, have a good head on his shoulders, and whom I thought was on the same level as me. I’m normally pretty good at seeing past the BS but I missed this one. I’m sure I put it all on myself. Who was I kidding? We live in different states- across an ocean. But I didn’t care. I trusted. Though, I don’t think he did.
One day in mid-October he makes a comment like “you meet a lot of people, huh” My reply was “Yes, it’s the mainland. There’re lots of people here.” Then we discussed how he meets the same people there. No one new, small island, etc. That was clue #1, which I brushed off. I thought it was a general question. Insecurity? Perhaps. :/
Clue #2 was a good one. Seriously, check this out. It’ll come handy to reference later. Late October: he asks “If you ever meet someone new or start to date someone, you’d tell me, right?” I was shocked he’d even ask that! Did he think I dated everyone I met?! I'm an extrovert. I can talk to anyone. But that doesn't mean I am interested in that way. I'm a grown woman. A picky grown woman, as a matter of fact. Anyway, the response to his question, “Of course I would!” Too bad he didn't follow it.
Late December: clue #3+ not returning my texts. When we did speak I asked him how he’s been since I haven’t spoken or heard from him in a few weeks. His reply, (classic) “Ohhh, I’ve just been real busy with work.” Dude! Save it! I’ve played that trick! Ha! I could have cornered him. Ask him to tell me the truth that he’s the one seeing someone. But that’s not my style. We really weren’t much of anything. I know you can’t force anyone to like or have the same feelings for you. Not to mention, I wanted to see if he could tell me the truth on his own. There wouldn’t be any animosity. I mean, shit happens. Season change, people change, feelings change. Yes, much like the song. And I can handle the truth. I’m not saying that to say it. I really can. Don’t lie. There’s no need. Asshole just made it worse.
On to my 28th birthday! To my surprise, he brings, what HE called, “a friend.” Oh! I got along with her so well. I can see why he fell for her. She’s got the 3 B’s: bright, bubbly and beautiful. It wasn’t until around midnight I found out. It sucks balls being the last to know. Especially when you're the one involved. Everyone plays the fool at some time(s) in their life.
Picture this, me & home girl at the bar. While she’s getting my bday shot, she asks if I’m single and I ask her if she is. She says “No, my boyfriend’s right there” I almost fell the fuck over. She points to you know who. I say, “Oh really? How cute. How long have you guys been together?” I HAD to know. She said, “Oh, just recently, since this past November.” So... I slammed another shot.
That was the end of that. Did I speak to him about it? No. Why? I know what I needed to know. We took lots of pictures that night; you know, the "3" of us. I like to call it his “trophy” pictures. Ah, wouldn’t he love to see them. Have I spoken to him since then? No. Has he called to apologize? Yes, but by force and via voicemail.
To my friends that were there when it happened and to my friends that consoled me here. THANK YOU for your time and patience. I hope to not talk about this again. My grieving is done.

Happy 'effin Valentine's Day!
If you're in a relationship, yeah it's nice to get something on Vday but some people go crazy with it. If you ask me, it's highly stressful. I dunno guys? is it? If I was in any type of relationship, I wouldn't want to make a big deal out of Vday. If you have feelings for someone, there are 364 other days - unless it's a leap year- to express it. And why just ONE day?
A group of 10 "single & ready to mingle" gals are going to dinner tonight. Celebrating "love is for losers." We planned for Fondue but they're booked everywhere so instead we'll take our celebration to a local Brewery. Forget getting all dressed up now! But that's okay, I'd much rather be in my comfortable jeans and a T-shirt drinking beer and eating potato skins. Yummm! Extra sour cream and ranch please! Hmm...I wonder how many other single groups will be there?

Can you see him?
We get into a bar (of course with a dance floor) and no one is dancing. My girl and I pretty much own the dance floor as the guys spit their game. Midnight rolls by and the dancefloor is pretty much packed and I'm tired. I stand back and people watch for a bit and check up on the guys. The guys are just tossed after the bottle of Patron, 3 beers and 3 mixed drinks from the bar. I see my girl dancing with this dude who's not bad looking. She sees me and calls me over. Of course, he has friends so then I have to dance a bit too. You know, take one for the team. Yeah. Oh and everyone loves my shirt except the non-latins. ;p
Anyway, I take another sober, people watching break. I end up conversating with the guy next to me who seemed pretty cool. He also happens to be a friend of this guy dancing w/ my friend. I find out he's a painter and plans to go back to school, yada, yada. Um, oh yeah, he's younger than me. Surprise, surprise.
Regardless, we exchange contact info (just as friends). People- it's called networking. I've got high ceilings and my walls are white.
I found out from my girlfriend that he's some sort of rapper. (the guy she was dancing with told her) Hmm.. a rapper? He really didn't seem like a rapper. No. Actually... Ah! I guess that explains why all his front teeth were silver. (I know, I'm stereotyping) Hmm...Yet, he didn't speak any slang to me which was good. I wouldn't be able to understand all the foshizzle stuff.
We've exchanged a few texts. The casual drive safe and what are you doing today type texts. The last text I received from him was pretty shocking. He had texted me earlier that he had a basketball game today. I replied, "how was it?" ..now mind you, I understand short text- where you don't spell everything out and I get abbreviations etc. But this, I dunno. He replied, "vary good." Yeah... My thoughts exactly.
Um...when does Spring quarter start?

Am I really expensive?
So does it make me expensive if...
1) I enjoy being wined and dined. So what if the bill is more or less at $200 - it's called appreciating GOOD FOOD! I don't pick restaurants just for the sake it's expensive. It definitely has to be worth it. And this doesn't have to be a guy spending it on me. I have no problem taking a girlfriend/family out at my expense.
2) Not a cheap date- I can hold a lot of liquor. Whattya expect? I'm 5'4" @ 150 lbs!
3) I get monthly massages
4) I love going to the spa- facials, manicures, whatever!
5) I love gadgets and I just bought a new 24" FP monitor
6) I pretty much eat out everyday- who has time to cook?
7) I don't have the patience to search the clearance racks- it gives me a headache!
8) I buy brand new
9) I can only use salon shampoo and conditioner for my hair- Biolage is my standard.
10) When I buy electronics, I go for quality- even if they are expensive.
...basically, it comes down to I am not rich to be cheap.
Que voy hacer?

Hakuna Matada
I woke up this morning feeling sick and it pretty much worsened throughout the day. Before the musical, I took some Day-Quil and when I arrived at the pre-party reception, I was offered some champagne. I being so “s-m-r-t”," accepted it and during the first half experienced extreme drowsiness. It was a good thing I didn’t fall asleep. It eventually wore off and I got my second wind.
Today was also the day I heard the words I longed to hear from a recruiter I’ve been waiting to hear from. I won’t discuss it all here but it’s very good news- for me.
It’s approaching 1:30 and I should be sleeping now.
I miss my camera. I spent 3 hours researching what kind to buy. Hmm… might as well get the same one I had.
